Join us for a Plastic-Free July!

We’re celebrating Plastic-Free July and we want you to join us! Everyone is becoming more eco-conscious and that includes their eyewear. More and more brands are producing sustainable eyewear in the UK, and we’re proud to stock several eco-friendly eyewear brands.

Eco Conscious

Our top collection of sustainable eyewear comes from Eco Conscious. The frames are made from a special fully biodegradable bio-acetate and during the manufacturing process, water used in the factory is recycled and redistributed.

That’s not all, though! Glasses come in plastic-free packaging, even the demo lenses we have in practice are biodegradable, and the company partners with the ‘One Tree Planted’ charity.

Of course, it’s not all about eco credentials. The frames themselves are elegant, stylish, and come in a highly attractive range of colours that our patients love.

We also stock eyewear from the planet-positive company, Coral. From design to finish, sustainability is involved every step of the way. Created from a zero-waste material called ECONYL, the matt finish is not just trendy but a conscious decision not to use any damaging lacquer or varnish.

William Morris London

Even highly fashionable brands such as William Morris are bringing out eco collections. The gorgeous Black Label Luisa frame has even been selected as Sustainable Frame of the Year!

Land Rover

Another fashion brand introducing an eco-collection is Land Rover. Expect the usual excellent styling, but with bio-based materials and recycled stainless steel.

Retro styling combines with cutting-edge materials, including recycled ocean plastic and recycled stainless steel in this uber-stylish collection.

Rudy Project

Sports eyewear specialist Rudy Project has an initiative called RidetoZero, with a goal to minimise the environmental impact of the whole company, from products and packaging to organisational processes, while part of their collection also features Rilsan® Clear, a sustainable high-performance bio-based polymer.

Contact lenses

If you prefer contacts to glasses, you won’t feel left out. One of our suppliers, Coopervision, are proud to be plastic neutral with their daily lenses.

Other steps

As well as being careful about choosing to work with companies that offer eco-friendly solutions, we are also taking action by improving our recycling methods in practice.
